Praying for our Kids


Our children are our heritage for sure and precious ones to be treasured by us. No matter what happens in a day, we as parents have a priority and responsibility to speak God's loving truth over their lives, to be a godly example and pray daily for God to lead and teach them all that they will need in life. Here is a start of 10 Scriptures you can pray over your children, no matter the age. We have a great hope in our heavenly Father who cares for them and is constantly with them throughout their lives. Let's believe for God to do tremendous things for them and through them throughout their lives.


(S) “And all your children shall be disciples [taught by the Lord and obedient to His will], and great shall be the peace and undisturbed composure of your children.”

Isaiah 54:13 AMP

(P) I pray for ___’s children to be open to being taught by You Father and follow Your will. In exchange, may ___ experience Your great peace and calm.

(S) “A wise son heeds [and is the fruit of] his father’s instruction and correction, but a scoffer listens not to rebuke.”

Proverbs 13:1 AMP

(P) Lord I thank You that my/___’s children are taught by You and that they are obedient to Your will and successful. Because of this, they walk in Your peace and prosperity. May they continually listen to Your wisdom as You offer it to us/___’s parents in guiding them.

(S) “For the Lord grants wisdom! From his mouth come knowledge and understanding.”

Proverbs 2:6 NLT

(P) Lord, I ask You to give ___ knowledge, wisdom, and understanding in raising up my/___’s children.

(S) “As newborn babes, desire the pure milk of the word, that you may grow thereby, if indeed you have tasted that the Lord is gracious.”

I Peter 2:2-3 NKJV

(P) Lord, may ___’s children desire Your word and discover how good You are.

(S) “So you must live as God’s obedient children. Don’t slip back into your old ways of living to satisfy your own desires. You didn’t know any better then. But now you must be holy in everything you do, just as God who chose you is holy.”

I Peter 1:14-15 NLT

(P) I pray that my/___’s children will desire Your Word so that they will grow closer to You Father. I declare in Jesus’ name, that my/___’s children are obedient, not imitating the things of the flesh, but they are holy in all conduct.

(S) “Understand this, my dear brothers and sisters: You must all be quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to get angry.”

James 1: 19 NLT

(P) Lord, I believe that ___’s children are quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to get angry.

(S) “Your conduct must be free from the love of money and you must be content with what you have, for he has said, “I will never leave you and I will never abandon you.”

Hebrews 13:5 NET

(P) Help ___ put money, career, possessions and their time in to balance, seeing the value of living and serving You greater for You promised You would never leave or abandon ___’s child/ren.

(S) “Don’t forget to do good things for others and to share what you have with them. These are the kinds of sacrifices that please God.”

Hebrews 13:16 GW

(P) Lord, I believe that ___’s children’s do good, and they are content with what they have. Thank You for never leaving them. May they not forget to do what is right and to always share out of Your goodness You give to them.

(S) “But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.”

2 Peter 3:18a NKJV

(P) May ___ grow daily in discovering your grace and wisdom and follow after You all the days of my/their life.

(S) “Furthermore, brethren, we beg and admonish you in [virtue of our union with] the Lord Jesus, that [you follow the instructions which] you learned from us about how you ought to walk so as to please and gratify God, as indeed you are doing, [and] that you do so even more and more abundantly [attaining yet greater perfection in living this life].”

I Thessalonians 4:1 AMP

(P) Father, may ___’s children walk in a way that pleases you Lord. May they grow in grace and in Your knowledge Lord. May they continually put your will above their own so that You may be gloried in them.
