Application
I am God’s masterpiece. A masterpiece is something created on purpose; it has great value and worth. It is one of a kind, created out of the carefully thought-out plan of the artist. Much effort and care is used to create a masterpiece. Each stroke of the painter’s brush is intricately and purposely thought out while creating this beautiful work. God put great thought into what He has placed in our lives. He created us to be made new in Christ.
It doesn’t matter what the canvas of our lives looked like in the past. When we accepted the love of Jesus, it was wiped clean. God began to create something new with our lives. Each day we can allow God’s way in our life, to yield to the work of the Holy Spirit, then He adds more beautiful strokes to the masterpiece He is creating.
A masterpiece attracts attention; it stands out. We are to show His beauty in our lives in such a way that people around us begin to see Him through us. He has already planned the good things He wants to do in and through our lives. The opportunities are all around us. As He takes what we give Him, He creates something beautiful and original; it will then affect those people that God has placed in our lives to influence them for His glory.
I can picture Him adding another beautiful color, another stroke today, stepping back, admiring His work, smiling, and saying, “It is good.”
Prayer
Father, you have called me your masterpiece. You want to make something beautiful out of my life today. Cause me to be sensitive to you and the areas in my life that you want to affect so that I may show your glory and presence to the people you’ve placed around me. You have already prepared the good things you have for me to do. Open my eyes and my heart so that I may see those things and walk after them with all that is within me. Thank you Father for looking at my life and seeing more than an empty canvas, more than I could see, you saw a masterpiece before you ever began. I will allow you to create the person that you’ve planned for me to be. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
