Guidance and Direction for Life

In seasons of life like a new chapter we are preparing to walk through, we typically want God's direction in order to avoid mistakes or pitfalls. Here are Scriptures we can decree in our lives for God to guide us through decisions and future plans with His help. He desires for us to seek Him for guidance and trust Him in the process. Let's watch His faithfulness as we lean in to Him.


(S) “You will hear a word spoken behind you, saying, “This is the correct way, walk in it,” whether you are heading to the right or the left.”

Isaiah 30:21 NET


(P) Thank You Father that ___ can hear You speak clearly and reaffirm on the direction ___ should take, no matter where ___ is at.



(S) “I will always show you where to go. I’ll give you a full life in the emptiest of places—firm muscles, strong bones.”

Isaiah 58:11 MSG


(P) Thank You God for always showing ___ where to go. Your kindness to give ___ a full life, filled with a strong, healthy body. Thank You, heavenly Father, for always showing where to go. May You give ___ a fulfilling life even at the most difficult, emptiest of places. May You make ___ strong physically.



(S) “We can make our plans, but the Lord determines our steps.”

(P) Even as___ is making plans, thank You Lord for determining ___’s steps.

(P) Lord, tell ___ what your ways. Teach ___ how to live daily. Guide ___ in Your truth, teaching ___. May ___ trust and hope in You daily… hourly.


(S) “5 Trust in the Lord with all your heart And do not lean on your own understanding. 6 In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He will make your paths straight. 7 Do not be wise in your own eyes; Fear the Lord and turn away from evil.”

(P) Help ___ trust in You Lord with everything wholeheartedly and not rely on ___’s own abilities. May ___ accept Your help and cause ___’s path to be straight so they ___ doesn’t’ lose focus and take a detour. Help ___ respect You and turn away from sinful ways, thinking I/they know exactly what to do.



(S) “I will instruct you and teach you concerning the path you should walk; I will direct you with my eye.”

(P) Instruct ___ and teach ___ how to follow Your path, knowing You see all things and know all things as Your plans for ___ are good.



(S) “Seek your happiness in the Lord, and he will give you your heart's desire.”

Psalm 37:4 GNT


(P) Help ___ seek You for their/my happiness, know You heavenly Father want to give ___/me the desire of __’s heart.



(S) “Our God is like this forever and will always guide us.”

(P) Thank You God for always guiding ___.



(S) “With your advice you guide me, and in the end you will take me to glory. 25 As long as I have you, I don’t need anyone else in heaven or on earth. 26 My body and mind may waste away, but God remains the foundation of my life and my inheritance forever.”

(P) Your advice guides ___. As long as ___ has You Father, there is no need for any other. Even when ___ struggles physically or emotionally, yet You God are the foundation of ___’s life and will sustain ___ in all things.



(S) “Lord, teach me how your orders direct me to live. Then I will live that way to the very end. 34 Help me understand your law so that I may follow it. I will obey it with all my heart. 35 Teach me to live as you command, because that makes me very happy. 36 Make me want to follow your covenant laws instead of wanting to gain things only for myself. 37 Turn my eyes away from things that are worthless. (P) Lord, teach ___ how to follow Your orders in living this life. Help ___ live it throughout my/___’s life. Help bring clarity to Your rules in order to follow them wholeheartedly. Show ___ how to live in obedience to them because ultimately, they bring happiness. Help ___ desire to follow You over wanting things for oneself. Turn ___ eyes away from worthless things. Keep ___ alive as You promise so that others will learn to trust and respect You.
