I Choose

Life is a series of choices. Carrie tells how she desires to be authentic with my emotions without allowing them to dictate my entire countenance. This requires vulnerability and intentionality. We CAN choose to rejoice in the Lord in the middle of (fill in the blank).

I Will Rejoice! | Carrie Kittinger

I realize it may be dramatic to admit, but there have been times in my life that this verse has been my anthem.

Though the fig tree does not bud and there are no grapes on the vines, though the olive crop fails and the fields produce no food, though there are no sheep in the pen and no cattle in the stalls, yet I will rejoice in the Lord, I will be joyful in God my Savior.

Habakkuk 3:17-18

When I feel like throwing in the towel because life doesn’t look like what I’ve imagined. When circumstances are harder than I think I can bear. When wave after wave of disappointment comes. When I want to pull the covers back over my head and take a day off. When I feel powerless to change.

I CHOOSE.

I choose to stay the course. I choose to keep on keeping on. I choose to praise the Lord!

Though the fig tree does not blossom. What is your “though” today? Yet I will rejoice. Move into your “yet”. Purpose to take a step of faith and choose to be joyful IN GOD!

We have the power to change the atmosphere whether it’s sunny or stormy. Will you choose to praise the Lord with me today?
