I've been robbed! I never saw it coming. In the natural I have done all I can do to prevent this. Planning, making a list, scheduling, being methodical about my activities, and yet I still couldn't stop the thief. You are probably asking what a list has to do with this thief. Well let me tell you, this is the thief of my very valuable time.
Are you laughing? Have you been in this situation before? Sure, we all have. That is just life. No amount of 'making a list, and checking it twice' will stop the person in front of you at the store that needs a price check on an item. Or what about the child that when you are about at your destination declares he forgot something he must have for the day. Thus, sending you to do a U-turn in the middle of a busy intersection, and making everyone late. The examples are endless, and I don't want to waste your time with frustrations of yesterday. But, what do we do when we get held up by this robber? The Bible tells us to rejoice. Okay, I know that doesn't help the situation move along any faster, but it makes you far more pleasant to be around.
Philippians 4:4 says "Always be full of joy in the Lord. I say it again—rejoice!"
I know it is frustrating to wait, or have to re-do something, or not be able to cross that item off your list, but sometimes you just can't change that fact. Don't let it get you down and ruin your day. If you do, then the thief has robbed you not only of your time, but also your joy. Remember God lets us start a new day every 24 hours. It's like we get to hit the re-do button every morning, and that is a blessing in which we can truly rejoice.
