Overwhelmed

We can be busy to the point of stress when our schedules include too many activities. We may encounter sudden changes in life that are difficult to process. Whatever we go through, we can pause in the middle of it all and invite the Holy Spirit to lead us in how to get through our circumstances with grace and His strength. Here are Scriptures to declare when overwhelmed so that you can overcome from decreeing and declaring God's word over the situation.

(S) “Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things.”

Philippians 4:8 NIV

 

(P) Help ___/me refocus to ponder, think, and speak of anything in light of being true, honorable, right, pure, lovely, and commendable. Help ___/me speak on things that are worth saying that have benefit.

 

 

(S) 10 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. 11 Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. 12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.” 

Ephesians 6:10-12 NIV

 

(P) God, I thank You for Your strength and power. I ask You to place on the whole armor You provide for ___/me to withstand the schemes of the devil. Help ___/me to recognize the struggles are spiritual first and that ___/I must fight with spiritual authority and weapons to overcome the darkness of the world that can sometimes deceitfully or openly be revealed in people who have left and open door to the devil.

 

 

(S) “Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the Lord delivers him out of them all.” 

Psalm 34:19 KJV  

 

(P) Although there are many afflictions among believers, Father, deliver ___/me from them all.

 


(S) “When my heart is overwhelmed: lead me to the rock that is higher than I.” 

Psalm 61:2 KJV

 

(P) When feeling overwhelmed, lead ___/me to recognize the truth of who you are in ___/my life, a solid help at all times.

 

 

(S) “We are experiencing all kinds of trouble, but we aren’t crushed. We are confused, but we aren’t depressed. We are harassed, but we aren’t abandoned. We are knocked down, but we aren’t knocked out.”

2 Corinthians 4:8-9 CEB

 

(P) ___/I may be experiencing all kinds of trouble, but ___/I’m not crushed – it’s not over. May feel confused or depressed, harassed in ___/my thinking, but we know we are not alone – You are present to knock out the thoughts and activities of the devil.

 

 

(S) “So we're not giving up. How could we! Even though on the outside it often looks like things are falling apart on us, on the inside, where God is making

new life, not a day goes by without his unfolding grace. These hard times are small potatoes compared to the coming good times, the lavish celebration prepared for us. There's far more here than meets the eye. The things we see now are here today, gone tomorrow. But the things we can't see now will last forever.” 

2 Corinthians 4:16-18 MSG

 

(P) Jesus, you didn’t give up, thus ___/I won’t give up even though things seem to be falling apart on the outside. May ___/I know you are giving grace in the hard times to get us through to where we will celebrate Your goodness and faithfulness. ___/I may not see with my eyes, yet You are doing a good work that You tell us You will complete.

 

 

(S) “Anyone who listens to My teaching and obeys Me is wise, like a person who builds a house on solid rock. Though the rain comes in torrents and the

floodwaters rise and the winds beat against that house, it won’t collapse, because it is built on rock.”

Matthew 7:24-25 NLT

 

(P) May ___/I listen to Your teaching and obey what You say, knowing our actions will bring stability to us because of You, God.

 


(S) “I will say of the LORD, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in Him will I trust.” 

Psalm 91:2 KJV

 

(P) God, You are ___/my protection and stronghold, our God whom ___/I trust.

 

 

(S) “Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.” 

Isaiah 26:3 KJV

 

(P) You give peace when ___/I focus my mind on You. We trust You.

 

 

(S) “For I am the Lord your God who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, Do not fear; I will help you.”

Isaiah 41:13

 

(P) God, how comforting to know that we can hold on tight to Your right hand as You speak words of hope, truth, and comfort when You say, ‘Fear not, I will help You.’ May ___/I believe You to help with what I’m facing.
