Having a loving family filled with godly principles, sadly did not prevent one son from making choices that would affect the whole family. Lori Voth speaks of her family's journey to prayerfully and lovingly help their son find sobriety and hope for a great future. Her authenticity touches the heart as you feel the challenges they walk through.
Mother of 4 kids
Husband was in ministry
Oldest son was a junior in high school and got curious what was on the "other side" of being a kid of a pastor and going to a Christian high school.
Son got kicked out of Christian college
"Our family, and I say our family cause it was a family journey on about a 10 year journey with our oldest son. Eventually he got into heroin and became a heroin addict."
The entire family had disbelief and denial about the journey they are all on.
Lori and her husband beat themselves up about what maybe they did wrong as parents.
"We had to fight for our marriage. Our marriage got attacked through this journey because we didn't agree on how to handle things."
The enemy is wicked, evil and is only for destroying and deception.
"I was in a battle and I am so thankful that God didn't just leave me alone even though I've never felt so lonely in my life. I had a good family, great kids, husband, and friends but I was so lonely."

1The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.
2He makes me lie down in green pastures. He leads me beside still waters.
3He restores my soul. He leads me in paths of righteousness for his name's sake.
4Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.
5You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; you anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows.
6Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life, and I shall dwell in the house of the Lord forever.
